To bridge the gap between junior and senior historians. That is the mission of Young KNHG, a special department of the Royal Netherlands Historical Society of which I am president. Since our official launch on 4 November 2016 Young KNHG dedicates itself to bring historians together – young, up- and coming talents on the one hand, and well-established historians on the other hand. We aim to connect academic historians with historians working in museums, archives or education, both in the Netherlands and Flanders. We intend to realise cooperation between the different fields and disciplines in history and to build a community, a sense of belonging beyond borders of generations and specialties.
